This post is taken from notes by artist Annea Wilson of Cornerstone Fellowship accompanied by one of her beautiful paintings. Annea has drawn her inspiration from scripture and from visions shared at our meetings. It is the first of four recent paintings by Annea and the others will appear here soon. 24th September 2017 - OUR FIRST GATHERING We were given a picture and a prophetic word. "Go out arrayed in the colours of the rainbow". Colours have particular meaning in The Bible, and the colours of the rainbow symbolize the the many-hued aspect of the light of God. The message today is to go forth - your feet shod with peace - in the light and colours of God's rainbow. Light is radiant energy; invisible as well as visible. We experience this, not only naturally, but spiritually. II Corinthians 4:18 says "while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen, for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal." And we are reminded that "it is the eternal things that are the most important". (John Grunder 11-05-09) The painting is of a rainbow in the seven different hues, and I have chosen each colour to represent an aspect of God's nature.
Annea Wilson 24th September 2017 'Lively Stones' Comment:
Thank you, Annea for sharing your beautiful work with us. The 'rainbow' described in GENESIS 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth, refers not only to a rainbow, but also to a battle, or hunting bow as used by an archer. The word comes from a root word meaning to be harsh, or severe. 12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: The import is clear. God is serious and breaking the covenant with Him will have severe implications for His people. It is amazing and reassuring that The Lord should remind us of this covenant at our first Sunday meeting - and realising that His covenant, described by light in the clouds, is at the same time, no light matter. The light refracted in the water droplets into seven colours represents the many aspects of the nature of God in their completeness. This same notion underlines Joseph's coat of many colours, revealing that Joseph became God's instrument by putting on the covering of God's nature. 1 PETER 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: |
MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS…Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. Archives
