And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?" [Revelation 6:15-17 NKJV] In the last few weeks - months even - the use of the word ‘unprecedented’ is itself unprecedented. Of course, each day is unprecedented in that it has never happened before, but we have the wonderful comfort of knowing that Jesus is new every morning, washing away the fears of the night hours. However, there are times when situations occur which can so easily fill us with fear because of what is happening in the world around us. In the last year, we have experienced fierce fires across the globe, devastating huge swathes of forest and taking many lives; the spectre of worldwide pollution in the oceans; the pandemic of the coronavirus, and now civil unrest erupting across America, further fuelled by it’s weak, self-serving monarch. One could be forgiven for thinking that the Four Horsemen from Revelation now stalk the Earth. All of which brings us to the question in Revelation 6:17, “Who is able to stand?” The answer is immediately given in the opening verses of chapter 7, when “the Sealed of Israel” are shown to be those able to stand. Those who have the mind of Christ ‘sealed on their foreheads’. I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. [Revelation 7:2-3 NKJV] Hold fast to Jesus Christ in these turbulent times. He will enable us to stand firm and withstand the evil day. “Put On The Whole Armour of God” - Love The Holy Trinity OSWALD CHAMBERS - RUN TODAY’S RACE Wednesday 3rd June 2020 Beware of paddling in the ocean of God’s truth, when you should be out in it, swimming. |
MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS…Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. Archives
